Download X (Twitter) Videos on iPhone and iPad

No app and no shortcut needed. Copy the post link, paste it below in Safari and save the video to your iPhone.

Quick steps

  1. In the X app tap Share on the post, then Copy link.
  2. Open xgroksaver.com in Safari, paste the link and tap Download.
  3. Choose a quality and tap Download again. The video is saved to Files > Downloads.
  4. To see it in Photos, open the file in Files, tap Share and choose Save Video.

Step by step on iPhone

Use Safari. Other iPhone browsers and the in-app browser inside X often block file downloads. If you opened this page from a link in the X app, tap the compass or Share icon and choose Open in Safari first.

After you tap Download, Safari shows a download arrow next to the address bar. Tap it to open the Downloads list. The file is stored in the Files app, in the Downloads folder (on iCloud Drive or On My iPhone, depending on your settings).

Save the video to your Photos app

Downloaded videos land in Files, not Photos. Open the Files app, go to Downloads, tap the video to preview it, then tap the Share icon and choose Save Video. It now appears in Photos with your other clips.

If it doesn't work on iPhone

  • Update iOS. Safari handles downloads properly on current versions of iOS and iPadOS.
  • Disable Low Power Mode or Private Browsing if the download stalls.
  • Make sure the post is public and contains a video.
  • Try again in a few minutes if X was slow to respond.

Same steps on iPad

iPad works exactly the same way. On iPad you can also open the post in Safari on x.com, copy the address bar and paste it here.
